Indiana Mehta
Indiana Mehta, made her Hollywood Debut in Netflix Feature ‘Work It’ and is a professional actor, dancer, choreographer and teacher.
Born in Mumbai, trained in Indian Classical/Folk and Western dance forms (Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Musical Theatre, Hip Hop and more) Indiana was the first Indian to graduate from Laine Theatre Arts, UK with a National Diploma in Performing Arts (Level 6). She also gained her DDI in ISTD Ballet and Modern. Indiana is always on top of her training and continues to take classes at Studio North and train under Footnotes.
Indiana has taught and performed in Toronto, London (UK) and India. Her credits include Netflix, SunLife, Ikea, Bell Canada, Scotiabank Arena, Rose Theatre Brampton, Anze Skrube, Dragon Talent Group, Colors TV, BBC India, Sony Music, Dharma productions and more. She will soon be seen in an upcoming Netflix Feature Film as a principal actor and dancer.
Indiana has lived in Toronto for 6 years now and has been fortunate enough to continue sharing her passion for dance with a multitude of dance schools in and around the GTA. As a teacher she is extremely particular about technique, discipline in class and self awareness. She is extremely fun but at the same time she pushes her students to always strive for being stronger and better at their art. Indiana enjoys working with kids at all levels.
Indiana was recognized by the Mayor of Kingston Upon Thames for her Indian Contemporary solo at Ignition Dance Festival. After that she went on to choreograph various events for the Mayor. Her most recent credit is working as an assistant choreographer on Season 9 of the Next Step and choreographing Ethan Suplee on Pardeep’s of Pittsburgh on Amazon Prime.
Her cultural collaboration for arts and artist is what makes her stand out. She has always believed in ‘Dance has no boundaries’ and continues to work towards it.
