Alexandra Dawson

Alexandra Dawson started dancing at the eager age of three at the York Dance Academy. She began her training in ballet (Cecchetti and RAD) and subsequently expanded into other styles of dance including pointe, jazz, lyrical, tap, contemporary, modern (Limón and Graham), musical theatre and hip hop.
As a competitive dancer, she received numerous high-achievement awards, performed twice in The Nutcracker, and was a member of the team that performed at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.
Alexandra is a graduate of Canada’s National Ballet School’s Teacher Training Program (NBS TTP Dip.) and holds an Associate status with Cecchetti Canada (Associate CC-CICB) and National Dance with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (AISTD – National Dance). She is also certified in Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) Level 2 as well as Acrobatic Arts AcroDance Pre School. Alexandra has completed her Honours Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Dance Education with a minor in Music at York University and is currently finishing her Bachelor of Education (BEd). She also successfully completed her Advanced 1 examinations in Cecchetti Canada, National Dance and Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) syllabi, providing her with extensive training across multiple classical methods.
Alexandra is passionate about sharing her love of dance and is excited to inspire the next generation of dancers at York Dance Academy.
