Alexandra Dawson

Alexandra Dawson started dancing at the eager age of three at the York Dance Academy. She began her training in ballet (Cecchetti and RAD) and subsequently expanded into other styles of dance including pointe, jazz, lyrical, tap, contemporary, modern (Limón and Graham), musical theatre and hip hop.
She has completed all of her credits towards her Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Dance Education with a minor in Music at York University. She is currently continuing her training at Canada’s National Ballet School in their Teacher Training Program working towards her NBS Diploma and Cecchetti Associate. Alexandra also has a certification in Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT).
Alexandra achieved many high-achievement awards as a competitive dancer during her years as a student at YDA and has performed twice in the Nutcracker. She was also on the team that performed at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida in 2009. In addition to her love of dance, Alexandra is also a gifted photographer and videographer.
She is excited to be able to share her passion for dance with the students of YDA and is looking forward to a long career in the performing arts.
