Karley Ogston
Karley’s journey in dance began at the age of 3 when she stepped into her first class at YDA. Inspired by the creativity of the art form, she quickly developed a deep passion for dance. Over the years, Karley has trained extensively in ballet, jazz, contemporary, lyrical, hip hop, acro, and tap, earning recognition at competitions and constantly challenging herself to grow as an artist.
Karley has taken on leadership roles both at YDA and beyond. As a long-time teaching assistant and instructor, she has shared her love of dance with younger students with guidance and enthusiasm. Karley currently serves as the dance Lead for the Guelph Gryphons’ recreational dance program, at the University of Guelph. Her responsibilities include managing registration, budgeting, staffing, event coordination, and teaching classes. She is also a proud member of the Guelph Gryphons Dance Pak, performing and competing at various university competitions.
Karley has completed YDA’s teacher training program. She continues to grow as both a dancer and educator, combining technical development with a strong sense of mentorship and community.
Outside of dance, Karley is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Environment and Resource Management with a minor in Sustainable Business. Her academic and co-op experiences reflect a deep interest in sustainability, social impact, and leadership — qualities that shine through in her approach to dance and teaching.
