Mariana Mangevil

Mariana, began her training at the National Ballet School in Mexico, “Academia de La Danza Mexicana”. In 1999 she won a Bronze Medal at the IV National Ballet competition in Mexico City and in 2001 and 2002 won silver medal at the V and VI National Ballet competition in Mexico. In 2002 she competed at the XXI International Ballet Competition in Merida Yucatan, where she won a Gold. She participated in The Grand Prix de Lausanne in Switzerland in 2001. 

From 2002 to 2008 Mariana danced with The National Ballet Company of Mexico performing in numerous productions including  The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Carmina Burana, Romeo and Juliet, Giselle and Sleeping Beauty, to name a few. 

Now living in Canada she has danced with Motus O Dance Theater in Perspectives, A Christmas Carol, Carmina Burana, Phoenix Rising and The Little Match Girl. Mariana has started her chorographic career collaborating with Diana Lopez Soto at the Harbourfront Centre and for The Uxbridge Studio Tour 2013. She continues to perform with these companies as well and looks forward to sharing her experience with the students at YDA.
