Olivia is a newly emerging, Toronto-based performer and choreographer, originally born and raised in northern Ontario, Canada. The main goal of her work is to create a very personal, and emotionally immersive performance for her audience.
At the early age of 3, Olivia was introduced to the world of dance through YDA. Olivia continued on to competitive dancing as her love for dance grew, she became very successful while competing in dance competitions. Through her elementary and high school years, she obtained many special awards and achieved the highest marks at competitions for many of her solos, duets, trios, as well as group dances.
After high school Olivia continued her dance training at Ryerson University for 4 years in their Professional Dance program, recently graduating in 2021 with a BFA in Professional Dance. During her time at Ryerson University, Olivia trained in many disciplines including Jazz, Contemporary, Ballet, Contemporary, Street Style, Modern dance styles including Martha Graham and Limón and Cuban, and many more. This has given Olivia the opportunity to hone her skills as a dancer and choreographer, while also extending her creative skills to mediums including acting, singing, film, choreography, and much more. In addition to Olivia’s training at Ryerson University, she also had the opportunity to be involved with professional choreographers’ creative processes, and performances. These performances include; (2019) FollowThrough by: Kirsten Sullivan, and (2019) Reliance by: Jera Wolf. Learning from these incredible choreographers has been pertinent to the growth of Olivia’s personal movement style and technical strength as a dancer. Olivia also recently traveled to Greece, where she spent four weeks training and rehearsing to perform in Peggy Shannon and Alyssa Martin’s musical theatre production of Our Leonardo.
Olivia loves to see her students shine and achieve their goals, she is very excited to be teaching at YDA to help create an inspiring and uplifting space for her students to fuel their love and passion for dance.
