Brittany-Brie D’Amico began dancing at a competitive level at the age of five in studio’s around Keswick, Newmarket and Aurora. As a teenager, she participated in musicals and touring companies, singing and acting her way through high school.
Brittany-Brie graduated from York University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance. She was inspired by artists such as Holly Small, Julia Sasso, Helen Jones and Clair Wootten. During her 3rd year she studied abroad at Chichester University’s contemporary program in England and while she was there danced under the direction of Paula Borges and her company Vortex Dance. In her 4th year she was a member of the York Dance Ensemble, York University’s pre-professional dance company.
Upon graduating, she performed with The Toronto Marlies, Mind the Gap, Simcoe Contemporary Dancers, Newfound Dance, The Parahumans, StandupDance, Collective Heat and Human Atoms, Love Letters Cabaret, Diva Girl Inc and Army of Sass.
Brittany Brie’s passion for movement led her to become a certified Pilates Mat and Reformer instructor, through Body Harmonics. Catch her teaching weekly Pilates classes at Function Studios Inc in Newmarket where she leads women to live better and move better.
She also teaches weekly classes for Army of Sass Newmarket, choreographing for their Performance and Training group. With her energetic and supportive attitude Brittany Brie encourages women to build confidence and gain physical strength through sassy heels dance.
Hey most recent certification is through Jill Miller’s Yoga Tune Up program. Brittany Brie will be using these therapy balls to help dancers down regulate, gain flexibility, release muscle soreness and gain greater awareness of their bodies.
On a more serious note Brittany Brie loves cupcakes, glitter, RnB music, a really good belly laugh and is very happy to be teaching strength for York Dance Academy.
